As I'm growing my retro console collection, I came across my wife's old SEGA Game Gear.
I popped in six batteries and snapping in the Sonic game, I was looking forward to seeing if it still works. But nothing happens as I turned it on... or wait... there was sound, but no image.
Mh, it looks like if that is a common problem with the SEGA Game Gear, as capacitor after 20 year are leaking and failing.
I didn't want to try to soldering it by myself, so I checked if I could find a repair shop and found Renetro: https://www.renetro.de/
Highly recommended! I have sent them the Game Gear and after 3 weeks I got it back - working again :-)
Now I have one more console in my collection!
